About Valerie Shaw
Biography
Valerie Shaw is a health-care administrator with more than twenty-five years of proven leadership, management, negotiation, and mentoring experience. Her expertise in patient throughput and flow is the impetus for this study.

Her technical, analytical, and organizational skills make her an effective manager across the health-care environment, not only in inpatient throughput but also in budget management, cost containment, supply chain management, regulatory compliance management, human resource management, and customer satisfaction initiatives.
Her experience recently expanded to include working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), making her a well-rounded professional in nursing who is proficient in setting goals and mentoring staff to create a high-performance environment. This nurse leader has a DNP from Chamberlain University, an MBA from Rutgers University School of Business, and her MSN from Rutgers University School of Nursing.
